From an administration famous for lying about just about everything, one of the most insane and insulting ones is about NATO and how, in the words of Trump “we are there for them, but they will not be there for us” in some form or another. Finally though, after comments made in the past few days, the UK and other “allies” had enough and pushed back with force.

The shooting of Renée Good on January 7th of 2026 was a tragedy on multiple fronts. Beyond the death of a 37 year old mother of three, it was also a prime example of the brutal and escalatory nature of ICE’s conduct in Minnesota over the past few weeks. Lastly, and eerily similar to the reactions to the Charlie Kirk shooting, it laid bare both the polarized state of the US as well as see the propaganda outrage machine on the far right brought out in full force.

Many big right wing accounts on X recently started spreading a peculiar graph. The graph shows monthly fentanyl deaths in the US from around 2012 up to the latest known data point at the time of printing in early 2025, and originated in the New York Times. The way it is framed suggests fentanyl deaths skyrocketed under Biden, and are now plummeting under Trump. But is it, really?

Is there anything more cringe and childish than this? Forget about the very serious underlying message here for a moment, what is this? This is how my two children have arguments. “You didn’t award me, therefor I will not be thinking about peace nananananaaaaa“. And “I grabbed it first” “No I grabbed it first” “No I did! Mom!!!“. The toddler-in-chief strikes again. What an embarassment.

Okay here’s an idea: maybe stop using rhetoric that mirrors literal Nazi propaganda structures in your official communications? Putting out a statement so closely mirroring the infamous “Ein Volk, ein Reich, Ein Führer” nazi propaganda slogan, is either implausibly incompetent, or one of the most brazen dog whistles. If you want to believe an administration who’s been called fascist many times before and disagrees with that sentiment happens to put a message like this out on purpose, that strains credibility.

It seems pretty clear the dreaded police state they warned you would result from silly things like being mandated to wear a mask during a pandemic, has finally arrived, but in a much more straightforward way: By the agressive, unchecked, thuggish use of actual police. Or, whatever ICE classifies as.

So I guess Trump really, really wants Greenland huh? Imposing tarrifs on your allies because they literally will not let you invade and annex one of their territories for your childish world domination fantasies. Amazing grown-up stuff.

It’s so predictable. In fact, I predicted * this would happen a year ago when Trump, after resuming office, went on his first tarrif spree. It is all so stupid. Not only were the reasons for the tarrifs nonsense, the outcome was easy to predict. Ooh, you’re going to make us pay absurd amounts of tarrifs on importing our goods? Fine, we’ll do business elsewhere.
